Tick Tock Naturals® was founded by Dr. Susan Eisen, a Functional Medicine Lyme-literate specialist and contributing author to the Weil Integrative Medicine Library Series. Based in private practice in Manhattan, Dr. Eisen launched the brand after contracting acute neurological Lyme disease from a tick bite, in the middle of winter. With a background in biochemistry and molecular biology, she used her expertise to develop an effective, organic formula after struggling with the physical and emotional toll of Lyme. A chance meeting with Ally Hilfiger, a fellow Lyme warrior, helped bring her vision to life.

Dr. Eisen currently serves on the board of Sam’s Spoons Lyme Foundation, founded by journalist and former national ambassador for Project Lyme, Carrie Perry. She is also a past Benefit Committee member of the Global Lyme Alliance. Tick Tock Naturals® is proud to be recognized by leading Lyme organizations nationwide and, in 2021, was acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a top-performing natural insect repellent.

Further validating its efficacy, a 2017 peer-reviewed study led by Dr. Ying Zhang (Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Medical School) found that the same essential oils used in Tick Tock Naturals® are among the most effective for repelling ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, and spiders.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

In a market flooded with “natural” products, today’s consumers are seeking safer, more effective options. Our formula stands apart as the only one made with grape seed oil—a key difference that sets us above the rest. Unlike water, alcohol, or witch hazel-based alternatives that evaporate quickly, grape seed oil stays on the skin longer without feeling greasy or sticky, unlike products made with soybean or canola oil. It also glides smoothly across the skin, so you use less with every application—making our highly concentrated formula one of the most economical choices available. We use only cold-pressed grape seed oil sourced from Italy and certified organic essential oils to ensure the highest quality from start to finish.

Ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, and spiders have all been identified as carriers of serious illnesses. Each year, the list of vector-borne diseases grows, including Lyme disease, Alpha-Gal Syndrome, and the potentially fatal Powassan virus, found in 3% of deer ticks. The Lone Star tick has been linked to severe meat allergies, while mosquitoes continue to spread Malaria, Dengue Fever, Zika Virus, Chikungunya, and West Nile virus. Notably, both West Nile and Malaria are now endemic in parts of the United States.

Complicating matters further, some infections can occur simultaneously, making treatment more challenging. That’s why Tick Tock Naturals® serves as your first line of defense—naturally protecting you and your loved ones from insect bites at home and while traveling. It's also important to know that ticks remain active during winter months, becoming sluggish only below 20°F. In fact, ticks thrive in much of the northern U.S. and Canada, posing a threat even in colder climates.
